Nature Adventures

Nature Away days

At Go Wild Scotland we’re bringing people together with nature, helping companies give something back to their employees and their local communities.

Our nature away adventures at the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders combine popular countryside activities like 4×4 forest safaris, falconry with owls, zip-wiring through the treetops and clay pigeon shooting with the opportunity to become a conservation ranger at a community nature reserve.

But there’s an added bonus: for every away day package booked, Go Wild Scotland will donate  and run a free nature education session for a school or community group of your own choosing.

So not only do your employees get to have a wonderful time in some of the most glorious scenery in Britain but you get the chance to give something back to your own community.

How much? Prices start at £650 for a small group day out, including lunch

Where? We’re based an hour south of Edinburgh and can pick up and drop off anywhere in southern Scotland and over the border too. Contact us for details.

When? All year round, though some activities such as seal pup and osprey viewing depend on the season.

Buy one gift one

As a social enterprise established to improve access to nature for all, we’re well aware of the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.

Nature makes people happy and happy people are healthier people. But not everyone gets that opportunity, so we’re making it easier for responsible employers to lend a helping hand.

Our Buy One Gift One programme lets you nominate a school or community group in your area and we’ll do the rest. A nature ranger will get in touch and arrange and run a nature education session from the programme we are currently delivering to schools in the central Scottish Borders.

Our own local community benefits too because as a social enterprise, any profits we make are ploughed straight back into community projects. We’re currently building a forest school at the Mauldsheugh Wood community wildlife project we run in Selkirk.

Choose your adventure

Most of our away days feature one core activity and an afternoon as a conservation volunteer at our community woodland in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, but anything can be customised (see the bespoke section below). Activities are priced on the basis of the maximum group size of 10 people: discounts are available for smaller groups.

Transport is included door to door for the 4×4 safari  and locally for the osprey viewing. For all other activities transport can be arranged as an add on to the package.

Osprey Adventure

Ospreys are regular visitors to the Scottish Borders and on this seasonal adventure we’ll take you to some of the best places to see them along the River Tweed

Bespoke Add-ons

To make even more of your away day you can also customise it by replacing or augmenting the  conservation volunteering session with another activity from our range.

The nature-specific add-ons allow you to swap the conservation activity for a morning looking for ospreys or red squirrels.

You can also add an owl experience to the conservation volunteering session.
