Add a bird box building session to your woodland experience.
We work with local community sheds to source the bird box kits you’ll be putting together at our forest school.
We’ve put up more than 60 bird boxes around our Mauldsheugh Wood community woodland in Selkirk.
We’ll provide the tools and fixings for you to make your box and then you can decide whether you want to take it home or put it up in the wood for the birds there to use.
This is a great activity for families to work together – but it’s easy for kids to do on their own too. Our nature club has built plenty of boxes over the last couple of years.
The results have been fabulous with a massive increaser in the number of species nesting in the wood.
Our merchandise helps cover the cost of our community nature and wildlife projects. All profits go back into the community interest company to enable us to continue to operate Mauldsheugh Wood, along with nature clubs, school visits and collaborations with other community groups.
